01What Meridian is

Meridian is a personal, single-operator web application maintained by an individual on the thewebsite.dev domain. It provides a browsing interface for movie and television metadata sourced from The Movie Database (TMDB), a widely used public film-information API, and displays video embeds hosted by independent third-party providers.

Meridian does not host, upload, cache, transcode, or store any video, audio, or subtitle content on any server it operates. Video playback happens entirely between the viewer's browser and the third-party embed provider.

02Nature of the service

Meridian is a private tool intended for personal use by the operator and a small number of invited viewers, gated behind a rotating password. It is not a public streaming service. It is not indexed by search engines, it does not advertise, and it does not solicit users.

• The interface layer (browsing, search, chat, settings) is built and maintained by the operator
• Metadata (titles, posters, cast, ratings, release dates) is fetched live from TMDB and belongs to TMDB and the underlying rights holders
• Video playback is delegated to third-party embed URLs; the operator has no control over what those providers serve, how they serve it, or what advertisements they attach

03Third-party content and providers

Meridian embeds video from vidfast.vc (and may reference other providers in future updates). These providers are independent commercial entities. The operator has:

• No affiliation with any embed provider
• No control over the content they serve or the ads they display
• No ability to remove, replace, or modify anything a provider chooses to show
• No access to any user's playback data on those providers

If you have a rights or safety concern about content served by an embed provider, that concern should be directed to the provider directly, not to Meridian. The operator cannot act on such a request because the content is not stored on any Meridian-controlled system.

04User responsibilities

By using Meridian, you agree that:

• You are of the legal age required in your jurisdiction to view the content you request
• You are solely responsible for whether your access complies with the laws of your country, state, province, or region
• You are solely responsible for whether your access complies with the acceptable-use policy of the device you're using and the network you're on (school, workplace, library, family)
• You will not attempt to abuse, overload, deface, or reverse engineer the interface
• You will not use the chat feature to harass, threaten, or target anyone

05Disclaimer of warranties

The service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranty of any kind, express or implied. The operator specifically disclaims all warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, uninterrupted access, freedom from error, and freedom from malicious content. Video quality, playback reliability, and availability of any particular title depend entirely on third-party providers and may change or disappear without notice.

06Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the operator will not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, this service. This includes but is not limited to:

• Any disciplinary action from a school, workplace, employer, or guardian
• Detention, suspension, expulsion, or academic penalty of any kind
• Violation of any acceptable-use policy, whether written or unwritten
• Being flagged by network filters, IT monitoring software, or safety-monitoring services (including but not limited to Securly, GoGuardian, Lightspeed, Impero, Bark, Gaggle, Linewize, Cisco Umbrella, Palo Alto, Fortinet)
• Confiscation, reformatting, wiping, or restriction of any device
• Loss of Wi-Fi, VPN, cellular, or other network privileges
• Any legal exposure arising from the viewer's own actions or jurisdiction
• Any malware, credential compromise, or account takeover resulting from third-party ad networks
• Loss of data, loss of use, loss of profits, or business interruption
• Emotional distress, reputational damage, or interpersonal fallout of any kind

07Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless the operator against any claims, demands, actions, losses, or expenses arising from your use of Meridian, your violation of these terms, or your violation of any applicable law or third-party right.

08Copyright and trademarks

All film titles, television series, character names, artwork, posters, backdrops, logos, and related trademarks displayed within Meridian are the property of their respective owners. Meridian claims no ownership of and asserts no rights over any of this material.

Meridian does not host copyrighted material. If you believe a third-party embed provider is serving infringing content, please contact that provider directly. The operator cannot process DMCA takedown requests against material it does not host.

09Data collected and stored

Meridian collects and stores the following, entirely within your own browser (nothing is transmitted to the operator's server except where noted):

• A signed session cookie proving you passed the password gate. Valid 24 hours. Sent with each request. Contains no personal data.
• Your chosen chat nickname, in localStorage. Only leaves your browser as part of chat messages you send.
• Your local chat log (up to the last 200 messages you've seen), in localStorage. Never sent anywhere.
• Your local settings (panic hotkey, click guard toggle, etc.), in localStorage. Never sent anywhere.

The operator's edge provider (Cloudflare) may retain standard edge logs (IP addresses, timestamps, request paths) for a short period for security and abuse-prevention purposes, as is standard for any web service. Chat messages are broadcast in real time and are not persisted server-side; when everyone disconnects, the messages are gone.

10Not collected

• Your email address, real name, phone number, or any account details
• Watch history, playback duration, or viewing analytics
• Behavioral tracking, cross-site cookies, or advertising identifiers
• Anything sold, licensed, or shared with third-party data brokers

11School and institutional use

Meridian is a general-purpose personal tool. It is not designed, marketed, or promoted for use in schools, universities, or workplaces. Whether an individual's personal browsing violates a specific institution's acceptable-use policy is a matter between that individual and that institution. The operator does not enforce any external AUP and cannot mediate disputes about them.

If you are an administrator with a specific concern that requires a response from a human, use the contact address below. Requests to take the entire tool offline will be politely declined, because nothing that could be taken offline is being distributed by us in the first place.

12Age restrictions

You must be of the age of majority in your jurisdiction to use this service. If a piece of content you request through the interface carries a mature rating in your country, you are responsible for confirming you're of appropriate age before playing it. Meridian does not verify age.

13Modifications

These terms may be updated at any time without individual notice. The current effective version is always displayed at the top of this document. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.

14Governing law and venue

These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and, where applicable, the state of residence of the operator, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute must be brought in that jurisdiction.
